2.4.4 Switch Fabric Module

On the RS 32000, the Switch Fabric is contained on a separate plug-in module. The RS 32000 has slots for two of these

modules. When two Switch Fabric modules are installed, the module in the slot labeled “Fabric 1” serves as the

primary Switch Fabric module, the module in the slot labeled “Fabric 2” serves as a redundant Switch Fabric module.

The front panel of the Control Module contains LEDs that indicate the status of the Switch Fabric – see Section 2.4.7,

"Control Module."
